About AssetPay
AssetPay is a B2B payment gateway for CS2 and Rust skin trading. Marketplaces, gaming sites and stores use it to take skins as payment without running the trading operation themselves. It's whitelabel, so your users only ever see your brand. We handle the trading, custody and accounting behind it.
The problem we solve
Accepting a skin is nothing like accepting a card. The trade has to be proposed and confirmed through Steam. The item has to be priced against a market that moves all day. And the exchange can fail outright, or be reversed afterwards, if it isn't handled carefully.
So most teams who want skin payments end up building the machinery first: a fleet of Steam bots, a pricing feed, a ledger, fraud checks, payout logic. That is months of work before a single trade clears, on infrastructure that isn't the product they set out to build.
We built that layer once and put an API on it. You integrate one gateway and treat skins the way you already treat every other payment method.
How it works
- Steam-authenticated deposits. Users sign in through Steam and send items to trade infrastructure we operate. We verify ownership and trade eligibility before crediting anything, so you never accept an item that can't actually be delivered.
- Pricing at trade time. Every skin is valued against live market data (Buff-anchored) at the moment of the deposit, not at page load.
- A double-entry ledger. Deposits, settlements and payouts each land as two matching entries. Balances check themselves, and months later you can still reconstruct which item was credited, at what value, and when.
- Signed webhooks. Every state change reaches your backend as a signed event, so your server can confirm it genuinely came from us before acting on it.
- Scoped API keys. Each merchant environment reaches only the operations and data it needs.
Security and accounting
Skins are real money, and the system is built to account for every unit of it. Double-entry bookkeeping means a balance is never just a running total someone has to trust; the two sides have to agree, or something is wrong and you find out immediately. Webhook payloads are signed, so a forged callback can't credit anyone. Deposits are validated against Steam before they touch your books, which keeps failed and reversed trades off them entirely.
Who it's for
We build for the teams running the platforms rather than for individual traders. If you operate a marketplace, a gaming or gambling site, or a store, and you want to take CS2 or Rust skins as payment without becoming a trading desk in the process, AssetPay is the layer between your product and the mechanics of Steam.
